Google's Pixel 11 event is Wednesday, but the leaks got there first. 9to5Google pulled together everything that's spilled out ahead of the August 12 Made by Google show, and at this point the picture is nearly complete: four phones, higher prices, doubled base storage, and a camera bar that lights up.
The lineup, plus a surprise
The core roster holds no shocks — Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and 11 Pro Fold, joined by the Pixel Watch 5 in 41mm and 45mm and a new Pixel Buds Pro 2 colorway. The one genuine curveball is the Pixel Tag, Google's first crack at its own Android tracker. It stayed almost completely hidden until recent leaks confirmed it's real.
Design-wise, this is the third straight year of the Pixel 9's basic shape. The phones get a touch thinner, and the camera bar goes all-glass again — a throwback to the Pixel 6 look. That leaves no room for the temperature sensor, which is getting dropped from the Pro models entirely. In its place, sort of: the LED flash on the Pro and Fold doubles as an RGB light. Leaks point to a feature called "HiLight" that glows as feedback when you're talking to Gemini, on calls, or recording video.
A 2nm chip before Apple got there
The Tensor G6 is the biggest swing. TSMC takes over fabrication using its 2nm process — a first for any smartphone, and a milestone Google reaches before Apple. The chip pairs one ARM C1 Ultra core at 4.11GHz with four C1-Pro cores at 3.38GHz, and Google is finally retiring its Samsung Exynos modems for a MediaTek M90. Leaked estimates put CPU gains up to 16%, though the PowerVR graphics reportedly sit on an older architecture that may disappoint gamers.
Displays get seriously bright: 3,000 nits on the base model, 3,600 on the Pros. Batteries shuffle around — 4,985mAh on the Pixel 11, 5,115mAh on the Pro XL, while the Pro oddly shrinks to 4,850mAh. Charging tops out at 30W wired for most of the line, 45W for the XL, with Qi2 wireless across the board.
Cameras split the family
The base Pixel 11 carries a 48MP main sensor (codenamed "chemosh"), a 13MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto with 30x Super Zoom. The Pro and Pro XL step up to new "bastet" and "barghest" sensors: 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide with macro, and a 48MP periscope that hits 5x optical and a wild 120x Pro Zoom. Selfies on the Pros jump to 42MP with a 103-degree field of view. The Fold gets the chemosh main sensor too, plus a 10.5MP ultrawide and a 10.8MP periscope.
About those prices
Every model climbs $100. The Pixel 11 starts at $899, the Pro at $1,099, the Pro XL at $1,299, and the Fold at $1,899. The softener: the 128GB tier is dead, so 256GB is now the floor across the entire lineup.
Google isn't just padding margins here. Executives have confirmed a brutal spike in memory costs — 1GB of RAM reportedly jumped from $2.80 in 2025 to $12 this year, a sixfold increase the industry has taken to calling "RAMageddon." It's severe enough that some Pro configurations may quietly drop from 16GB of RAM back to 12GB.
Mark the dates
The launch happens Wednesday, August 12, with preorders expected the same day. And in a break from Google's usual staggered rollouts, the whole line — Fold included — reportedly ships together on August 20.
Two days out, the real question isn't what the Pixel 11 is. It's whether 2nm silicon, doubled storage, and a glowing camera bar justify the first sticker jump the Pixel line has taken in years. Wednesday brings the official answer.
