Three foldables and a pair of glasses: Samsung's July 22 event is its most crowded in years
Samsung has set July 22 for its summer Galaxy Unpacked, and the guest list keeps growing. What used to be a two-phone show — one Fold, one Flip — now looks like the company's broadest launch in years: three foldable phones, two new watches, and quite possibly Samsung's first smart glasses.
The stream goes live on Samsung's YouTube channel and website at 2 p.m. BST / 9 a.m. EDT. London is expected to host.
The foldable trio
The headline change is structural. Leaks point to Samsung launching three foldables at once for the first time: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, a premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra above it, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
The Fold 8 itself should change shape — shorter and wider than previous Folds, a redesign the Unpacked invitation itself appears to tease. That targets the oldest complaint about Samsung's book-style foldable: the narrow, cramped cover screen that made the closed phone feel like a TV remote. Widen it, and the cover display starts working like a normal phone.
The new Ultra tier says a lot on its own. Samsung slaps that badge on products where it knows buyers will pay for the maxed-out version. Extending it to foldables means the category has graduated — no longer an experiment, but a flagship line worth segmenting the way the Galaxy S series is.
Thinner, and smarter
Samsung's teaser leans on two themes: thinner, more powerful foldables, and Galaxy AI woven through everything. Expect the software — productivity tricks, intelligent assistance across the folding screen — to get as much stage time as the hinges. The pitch is refinement over reinvention. Better proportions, less bulk, smarter software.
The wildcard: Intelligent Eyewear
The most interesting line on the rumored agenda is what previews are calling Samsung's "Intelligent Eyewear" — potentially its first smart glasses. Samsung has spent two years watching rivals define the AI-glasses conversation. July 22 might be its answer. Even a quick teaser would signal Samsung wants to compete for your face, not just your wrist and pocket.
And about wrists: two new Galaxy Watches are expected to round things out.

Samsung is reportedly targeting August for the foldables' release, keeping its usual few-week gap between announcement and availability. Pre-orders typically open on event day.
